TRAILER is set up for highway and light off-road use-as the trailer frame has 26 inch wheels; 20 in of ground clearance; and has a Lock N Roll Articulating tow hitch-See photo. LnR Hitches allow 360 degree of swivel between the trailer and tow vehicle-and a vastly more reliable connection between tow vehicle and the trailer. There is a tongue mounted locking cargo box; and a full size spare. Tires are less then a year old.
TRAILER WEIGHT: I would estimate the weight of the complete trailer as 1100 Ibs dry. It towed easily by a Ford Maverick. Small SUV, Cars and trucks should be fine to tow the trailer. It has a 2 inch receiver.
Camper was shop built and added to the Harbor Freight trailer kit by the private party I bought it from. I am including the features listed below; the offroad shop added the frame rails, suspension; and all-terrain hitch. I have used it for 2 camping seasons.
TRAILER is insulated.
TRAILER SUSPENSION $2500 has been spent to build out the trailer suspension and add the off-road tow hitch. D & L Offroad 4 x 4 did the upgrades to the trailer which supplemented the standard 4 x 8 Harbor Freight trailer base. The shop set it up with heavier leaf springs, axle / bearings, and larger dia wheels for better off road clearance. I have receipts of the work done.
CAMPER COMES WITH: a Goal Zero 400 Solar Generator (charged by 120 Watt solar roof panel); a 37 qt 12 Volt Cooler-Freezer; a .7 cf microwave and a CYBERTAKE-S portable Air-Conditioner. All connecting power cords are included-to connect to the solar panel; and to shore power. (110V electric at the campground.)
CAMPER has memory foam mattress sections for the upper and lower sleeping platforms. These sections can also be used to sit on the wood futon-See photo. Folding plywood panels included are used to create sleep platform for the futon. The hatch can be closed to increase the bed size in the upper tent berth.
CAMPER has 4 molle panels for the interior; and a shelf-for the .7cf microwave I am including in the sale.
CAMPER USE: with the full 4 ft inside high space-you can just used the camper box when the tent is not raised.
SLEEPING CAPACITY:
* Camper sleeps 3 comfortably. (4 in a pinch) Lower bed is a futon which folds into a couch frame-for dining and daytime use.
* With the hatch open there is 8ft of standing space. See me in opening.
