We have a room available in our shared apartment starting August 14th for $750 utilities included (except split internet bill). This 3 bedroom apartment is one of only two units in a unique house on Jenifer St. You would be roommates with me and another person. We have both lived here multiple years.

Heat, central air, electricity, water, and laundry included in price and paid by landlord. Keep that in mind when comparing apartment prices. The lease commitment is for 1 year. 

Our unit is on the second floor (top floor of a house), so unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. I’ve lived here since 2017 and really like it. Downstairs neighbors are great! The lease is for one year and room prices are based on the room for a total of $2,085 between the 3 of us. Yours would be the biggest room, offset in the front of the house with private porch and huge closet area with vintage stained glass window. 

Popular, unique neighborhood near B.B. Clarke Beach, Lake Monona, Willy St., I/o Arcade (skeeball!), the Sylvee, Ama, Ahan, Vintage Brewing, The Wisco, Taco Local, Madison Sourdough, the bike path, and buses. 

Big kitchen, lots of windows, a slight view of the lake from living room depending on the season and trees (more slight views from your bedroom), new 2021 bathtub and shower, unique old house from 1890s. Mostly wood floors, except one of the occupied rooms. Storage in back entry way, attic, and basement. Laundry free in basement (separate entrance through basement doors from outside). 

I have two friendly, cuddly cats. They are great companions. I empty the litter boxes once a day, and I keep things pretty clean. I’m looking for a roommate who doesn’t have another cat or dog. That would be ideal for the space that we have and the lease requirements. 

There is a garage in back that is available to rent and two outdoor non-garage parking spaces in back as well for a fee, one of which will likely be taken. I currently park on the street for free although there are various street parking rules to follow that I can fill you in on. 

We would be splitting internet 3 ways. Current Spectrum service is $18 each, but we could look for a better deal and possibly switch to fiber.  

Lots of windows, so good ventilation and sunlight. Yard space. I have some furniture I can lend you for the year if you’d like, but the bedrooms are unfurnished. I have a LG OLED 65" 4K tv and a great collection of DVDs and books. No furniture needed in common areas, but I can also try to incorporate your furniture into the space of course. Storage space in basement too. 

Current roommate (they/them) is a 26-year-old graduate student at UW-Madison. They love animals and rocks, enjoy being active outdoors, wake up early, and are a quiet person to live with. I’d describe myself as a considerate, friendly, quiet bi 41 year old (she/her) enjoying life in Madison. I love art- film, tv, literature, music, drawing. I do get migraines and fatigue from chronic illnesses, so I spend a fair amount of time at home, but I am good at staying out of the way and quietly hanging out in my room. I pay my rent on time and am responsible and keep things tidy. 

I am very cautious about Covid, especially because I have not had it yet. I have a suppressed immune system due to a medication I am on, so I am looking for vaccinated roommates that are willing to keep covid in mind still. If you want to have huge indoor parties every week we wouldn’t be a good fit. I would like us to tell each other if we are having symptoms or have had contact with someone who tested positive. 

Let us know if you’d like a video or in-person tour starting Saturday July 6. Serious inquiries only. You would be surprised how many people respond despite having the wrong availability dates, pets, not vaccinated, etc. Please ask questions before scheduling a tour if you are unsure of the details. 

Security deposit split between the three of us will be due by move-in to cover potential damages. 

My landlord is Tyler Schultz from Schultz Investment Opportunities, so you would be signing a year long lease with him and both of us. 
*Though the move in date is usually 8/14 the roommate who is moving out might be able to make the room available sooner if you are moving at the start of August (7/31). Alternatively, I am willing to cover the rent for the room for the first month (until 9/14) to enjoy some extra space for myself if someone is looking for a place later starting in September for 11 months.
