I’m rehoming my two cockatiels, Nico and Cheeki, and hoping to find the right people to give them the care and attention they deserve.
Nico (female) came from my husband’s daughter when she couldn’t keep her after having a baby. She’s a total sweetheart — sings, cuddles, and loves attention. About six months ago, she developed what looked like an egg lump (vet said it was an egg) that never passed. She’s had no bad side effects since, still eats and acts completely normal, but may need vet care someday that I can’t afford.
Cheeki (male) is a gray cockatiel with orange cheeks. He’s very cute but shy — definitely not hand-tame yet. He was undersocialized when I got him and still hisses when hands get close, though sometimes he lets me pet his head if I move slowly. He’ll need patience and time from someone experienced with birds.
They don’t fight or hurt each other, but they also don’t seem bonded — they can likely be separated without stress. Cheeki does hiss at Nico if she gets too close, but does not seek her out to attack or anything like that. They've lived together for like 2 years without any fights that have caused injury, just some bickering. Haha
If someone adopts both, I have a large cage that can go with them. If one bird is adopted first, I’ll hold onto the cage until both have found homes.
There will be a rehoming fee, which depends on whether you take the cage or not. This is just to ensure they go to a good home with someone capable of taking care of them.
