Novice percussionist looking for informal small circle (non-mystical) percussion opportunities. Besides acoustic hand drums (ghaval, doumbek, riq, frame, lapdrum, udu, etc), I have a couple Korg wavedrums. The concept is; low volume, unstructured-but-recurring. I tend to build kind of backwards starting with percussion tracks and dropping melodic components on to suit (and mostly to enhance rhythm but drones are also kind of interesting.) I can imagine melodic/rhythmic additions to be stuff like; strings, harmonica, woodwinds (one of my plugins features a Zurna which sounds kind of interesting,) accordion, scratchy, percussive tonewheel organ... Just for fun. Let me know if you have any ideas for me.
