Hello! We are Late Harvest; a Madison-based band focused on writing original music and playing Madison to Midwest-based gigs. Our core group has been together for two years, and we're ready to ramp things up a notch in 2017. We have just finished recording our first music video (check it out: https://vimeo.com/203230141), and are currently active in the recording studio with new music. We are super excited for our series of gigs booked at Capital Brewery this summer!
Our lineup is comprised up of Drums, Bass, Guitar, and Vocals. We are now looking for an additional layer to complement our groovy rhythm section and to support our sound harmonically. Keys would be a great fit, but we also love the use of other sounds such trumpet, guitar, synth effects, and other textures.
Harmony vocals are a crucial part of what we seek in a fifth member. We are occasionally able to support our lead singer, but another strong vocalist will make a huge difference in our live shows.
Personality wise, you will be a great fit if you are passionate about music (writing, jamming, improvising) and are relatively easy going but also productive and focused. We joke around and have a lot of fun, but we also value being on time, being prepared for rehearsals, and being present (not on your phone snap chatting your bae during practice!).
You must be available on Thursday nights, we have built our personal schedules around this night for close to two years, and it is the only viable time for everyone to commit to consistent weekly rehearsals. We do double up on some weeks when we can, but we tend to average 3-5 rehearsals per month + one management meeting (our name for drinks and business discussions, goal formatting, etc.)
We hope to average at least two gigs per month throughout the year. The majority of our earnings are reinvested in the band -- promo materials, advertising, merch, helping to pay for our practice space, etc. Unfortunately, this band is NOT a money making pursuit for you or us, though it could become so in the future!
About Late Harvest:
Our sound is a blend of Indie Rock, Blues, Soul, Jazz, Folk, and Pop music but very few genres are off limits for us. The photo included is from an acoustic setting, but we have evolved into more of an electric band.
We have around 20 completed original songs and counting! Original music will continue to be our primary pursuit. However, we have added around 20 covers to the mix for our longer 2 and 3-hour gigs.
We ask you to please provide your background, your expectations, a link to some audio examples of your playing and any questions you have for us.
You must be available for 85-90% of rehearsals and gigs... otherwise what is the point!?
