This Ibanez PF5 was made in China. Includes soft case, Ibanez QT6 tuner and extra striings.
The PF5 is a Performance series acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1993. It was produced in South Korea but production moved to China in 2000.
The PF5 features a dreadnought body with spruce top on mahogany back and sides with a black and white binding. The round soundhole has a black and white multi-purfling rosette ring and a black pickguard. The maple neck has a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers with a custom inlay at 12-fret and a matching headstock. Components include a compensated plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge with white bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome covered tuning machines.
For 1994 the body material was changed to nato wood and the neck to mahogany in the US market, at the same time the neck amterial was changed to nato-wood for the European market. By 1996 the material used for the body returned to mahogany. By 1998 Three new finishes wad added Black (BK), Marine Sunburst (MS) and Tobacco Sunburst (TS). For 2003 a special design rosette was added. For 2005 the tuning machine were changed to gold plated die-cast.
The PF5S is a related model with solid spruce top and snow-flake fingerboard inlays. The PF5L is a left-handed version. The PF512 is a related 12-string model. The PF5E and PF5CE are related electric-acoustic models with cutaway and piezo pickup.
The PF5 was discontinued after 2006.
Ibanez QT6 Quartz Guitar tuner from the 1990's. This tuner is powered by a single 9v battery. It has a microphone input for tuning acoustic instruments as well as a 1/4" input for tuning electric instruments.
