This is the "real deal"! There are other bikes out there being advertised as '58 Trailblazers that are not. They may even be titled as 1958's but due to the licensing laws in some states in the 50's and 60's they may be older.
Royal Enfield built a full line of motorcycles for the Indian Motorcycle Company of Springfield from 1955 - 1960. This bike left the Redditch factory on January 4, 1958. Serial number records indicate that there were no Trailblazers manufactured after 1958. There were several unique changes made to the Trailblazer for the 1958/1959 model years.
I purchased this motorcycle from the original owner with less than 7,000 miles on it. I finished the restoration of this bike in 2013 and it now has 10,000 miles on it.
Go to the "Royal Enfield Forums" on BritBike.com for details of the restoration and some photos as it looks now. (The "thread" was posted on 11/21/14 and is currently found on page 13.) The first photos in that posting show it with temporary mufflers and some parts missing. I just wanted to ride it before winter set in. The photos shown in this posting are also those early photos.
