Hi looking for anyone in the area that could take 4 (look to be about 2 daysπ£ old/hatched) adorably fluffy and cute Orphaned Mallard Ducklings.π¦π¦π¦π¦ Preferably a wildlife rehabber or individual/s with (wild) Birds/Waterfowl.
Their mother was hit by a car on Hwy 51, and I found them sadly, next to her deceased(looked to have been hit by a car) body. There were more than 4 there but the others I could not catch that ran into the ditch into extremely prickly tall grass and weeds. I tried (unsuccessfully )for a good 20 mins to round them all up yesterday early afternoon. I then went back to look again about 6pm and I could not find the rest then either.
Seeing as mama was not alive and they were obviously orphaned and in danger staying next to her body on the side of a Fast Hwy I brought the 4 I was able to round up home with me planning on contacting DNR or other resources to come get them from me.
If anyone knows of an organization or person/people that can help me with these little buggers please let me know. Or if you have any way to transport them from here in Pardeeville to the Dane County Humane Society Wildlife Center which I believe is in McFarland, they can and WILL take them in and care for them until they can care for themselves in the wild. I would be unable to transport them myself for a few days, which these babies need better care before then. Please π₯Ί there has to be someone out there that can help these cuties.πβΊοΈ??!!Please feel free to post this link anywhere to get the word out about them and help them get the help needed soon. Thank you!!
