Is the current economic climate stretching your budget for an upcoming graduation, anniversary, or other celebration, but you still want to have a baller event? Or maybe even a yard sale, but with rain protection. For your consideration, I'm offering a white canopy-style event tent with side walls and extra stakes. This tent has been treated for waterproofing, well cared for, only used once, and thoroughly cleaned and dried before storage. I'll throw in an optional gift of a white LED light curtain for any buyer over this weekend (1/11 or 1/12).
Details:
- Total coverage: 10’ x 30’
- Composed of two tents: one 10’ x 20’ and one 10’ x 10’
- Includes side walls and extra stakes/lines for added wind protection. Does NOT include sandbags or other weighting (to ensure thorough reinforcement, especially during windy conditions)
- Waterproofed after original purchase - With StarBrite for marine fabrics
- Not commercial rental grade, but sturdy and reliable for backyard events, parties, or gatherings - Waterproofing and taking care with the tent setup and pitch of the ceiling meant our 35 person dinner party was able to go on as planned, and happily, during heavy rains.
A few additional notes are below, followed by the pricing and purchase options, so thanks for bearing with the detailed post. You can skip the longer item about safety if you have experience setting up a larger tent or know a lot about it.
Please know:
-I'm not including photos since it isn't super practical to assemble the whole thing to take them, but parts have been inventoried for completeness and interested buyers are welcome to peruse the components to see their condition before purchasing.
-These aren't pop-up style tents, so you might want to consider planning for a few people to set up the tent ahead of your event.
-I won't tell you what to do with your tent, should you purchase, but will make a suggestion to plan for enough time to take care with the tent assembly and logistics and adjusting your safety/comfort/time management measures according to plans. The biggies are considering outside temperatures and not doing anything dangerous to heat the tent in case of unexpected cold weather, and, most of all, windproofing, especially if you might want to have the tent set up and not closely supervised by people capable of fixing issues for any length of time. Otherwise, the laws of physics could render the tent into, essentially, a surprisingly powerful sail, causing it to take flight and potentially leaving you with a nightmare incident on your hands that will live on in infamy on your neighborhood listserv or make you liable for hefty expenses or worse if the poles damage a nearby car or the whole tent lands on a person, trapping them like the Wicked Witch of the East. I'm taking time to describe these considerations in detail and paint these unsavory pictures in case they don't occur to anyone interested, since DIYing in this way is still a newer option for many people, rather than hiring a tent rental company that provides and shores up their set up. All of that said, the one past use of this tent involved a small handful of people with no prior experience setting one up and it was left up overnight after our party without incident, though we were d*** sure to use the (included) extra stakes and lines with plenty of weight on top of them, in addition to working together to make sure the roof was pitched up in the middle (more for rain drainage) and parts were put together correctly.
With my conscience at ease and maybe a few shoppers filtered out that should be, here are the options for purchase:
Saturday, January 11th and Sunday, January 12th: This weekend I will be offering just one option of the entire package with both tents (we set them up as a 10'x30' tent the one time they were used).
Total asking price is $115.
***An extra perk, to incentivize early birds, is a free gift, if you're interested, of a white LED light curtain (10 strings of lights, hanging vertically across an approximately 10' line, a remote control, light pattern options, a cord with a USB out connection, the older type not the C type. No wall outlet plug included, but can draw power from portable sources like power banks.***
Beginning on Monday, January 13th: I will offer the whole package, as described and priced above AND will take offers/sell each tent separately.
Pricing for individual tents:
-10'x10' - $40
-10'x20' - $90
Delivery possible to confident buyers at a safe location, at my discretion, for an additional $10 within Madison or Monona. Inquire if you're in the nearby surrounding area and interested in delivery...we can probably work something out.
Thank you for your consideration! I will leave this up and delete when it's sold, so please reach out, even if offers are slow on account of it being January.
