These timbers are our highest grade of railroad tie that we offer. All four sides of these ties will be solid and presentable. Railroad ties catch bullets extremely well due to their high density. You can expect a long life and minimal wear compared to other backstop materials. Some customers opt for large outdoor backstops while others put small shooting ranges inside Cleary Barns.
After ties have been removed from the ground, they are shipped to our yard. There they are processed – sorted, graded, bundled, and banded.

- These ties do contain creosote, that’s what makes them so resilient to weathering and bugs but also has some harmful effects that may vary based on your use
- These ties may have some reasonable amount of imperfections, limited to chips/dents/splinters - You will not be sold any railroad ties that are partial or "broken"
- We load with a Bobcat skid steer, loading is easy and quick!
- Cribbing provided for easier unload on your end
