condition: good
I have a pair of electrostatic speakers for sale. I have been unable to determine a make/model, could be a kit. The speakers are in overall great condition. They originally had a black cloth cover over the fronts (included) but I pulled them off when I started restoring them. They did work when I brought them home but I felt they needed some work.

First thing was to replace a bad woofer. Unfortunately I didn't understand speaker design at the time so there is a large difference in the quality of sound between the new one and old one, so I recommend that a matched set be installed (I think the new one is a Dayton).

I also had the electronics/crossover circuitry completely rebuilt with all new components.

The biggest issue is occasionally I would blow a fuse on my amp when shutting everything down. It took a while but I finally think I figured out why. I eventually found one of the steel protective screens has a dent in it and must be contacting the plastic film which holds the static charge. That is probably creating a short and causing the fuse to blow. I've tried to figure out a way to pull the dent but the grill is a heavy gauge and I can't get anything that will attach firmly to the grill to pull and that would avoid damaging the plastic. I figure the panel will need to be taken apart to repair. I have not tried to take the speakers apart or the panels.

Should be an interesting project for someone to finish. I don't think I'll ever get back to this so hopefully someone else will find it interesting.

Asking $125 obo (cash of course).

Email or text is best, phone calls OK but leave a message because I won't pick it up if I don't recognize the phone number.

If you are reading this then the items are still available. I delete my listings as soon as the item(s) have been picked up.
