I have an excellent Panasonic RE-8840 receiver and speakers for sale. This has AM/FM plus a 4 channel 8-track player. Receiver and speakers are all original and in excellent condition, I don't really see any marks or scratches worth mentioning. Speakers look to have been hung on a wall all there life so they look great. The speaker wires have been spliced to make the wires longer.
I tested most features on the receiver and everything seemed to work. I did not test all the inputs and may have missed a feature. I did clean the pots.
I installed a new belt on the 8-track player and cleaned and demagnetized the head. The only issue I have found is that the channel 1 light on the 8-track player is out, all other lights (2,3,4 channels/4 track/2 track) work. I have not found a schematic to figure out what lights are installed. I played both a regular stereo 8-track and a quad 8-track and both worked.
All the speakers work, I opened 2 up and the surrounds are in good shape. New owner may want to make sure the RCA wire splices were made correctly, i.e. make sure the polarity is correct between the RCA plug and the internal speaker +/- connections. The center tip of a RCA plug is positive (+), the outer ring is negative (-). I didn't think to check this when I had 2 of them open.
Apparently this is a fairly rare item especially with the original speakers.
Asking $150 obo (cash of course).
Email or text is best, phone calls OK but leave a message because I won't pick it up if I don't recognize the phone number.
If you are reading this then the items are still available. I delete my listings as soon as the item(s) have been picked up.
