Second owner, original car with original paint & interior1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Limited Edition classic car. 2-door coupe
As many car collectors know, the front wheel drive Oldsmobile Toronado came out in 1966 and as many Cadillac owners discovered the uniqueness of the front wheel drive they wanted to have a Cadillac that had the front wheel drive train but were die hard Cadillac enthusiasts. Eventually General Motors had the Cadillac department design a Cadillac with front wheel drive with one of the largest engines ever put into a Cadillac.
By 1978 the Cadillac Eldorado front wheel drive had been a success but in the end GM decided to end production that year and Cadillac executives wanted the Eldorado with the front wheel drive to go out with a bang. So GM came up with the special paint job on the Eldorado along with matching two tone leather interior and called it the Limited Edition Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz classic.
For those who haven’t experienced the thrill of driving a Cadillac Eldorado front wheel drive, it is extremely fast for such a large car. With the large engine over the front wheel drive it can pull itself out of almost any situation. It is interesting to note that the particular leather used in Cadillac Eldorados was of such high quality it is very uncommon to find an Eldorado that doesn’t have its original leather in very good condition. When you take a look at the interior photos check out the two-tone leather interior of this Limited Edition that matches the two tone paint job. The interior is in extremely nice condition as you will see from the photos.
Also note that this is a two-owner car with low miles, original paint and original interior, engine and transmission all in excellent condition.
The odometer reads 24,685 but there is no paper documentation.
This gigantic 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Limited Edition also has climate control, six-way seats, power windows, power locks, AM/FM radio.
The name for the paint colors on the Limited Edition is called Arizona Beige and Demitasse Brown. The roof covering is described as Elk Grain vinyl in Arizona Beige. The original tires have been replaced. The car is fully running as it should and being sold to a hopefully younger caretaker. For many collectors this model is considered one of Cadillac’s crown jewels for both design and engineering.
