Listing is for a Rohloff 14 speed, internal hub fitted for rim brakes and quick release mount and a front hub that includes an Alfine generator front hub laced onto a 700c rim. This wheel set could be outfitted with front and back rim brakes or a hybrid front disc and rim brake on the back. The hub has relatively few miles. The Rohloff 'transmission' is superbly engineered and assembled in Germany and are $2500 - $3000 new when combined with shifter and external mechanism. Rohloff hubs are trouble-free, very durable, lasting up to 100,000 miles, truly an engineering marvel. Shifting to any of the 14 gears is possible at stops or on the fly. The shifter mechanism is included in the sale. The hub is maintenance-free except for changing hub oil every 3,500 miles. The wheel set is still mounted to a frame so you can check out the wheel set on a bike. Note: I am listing a bike complete with this wheel set (see my ad in the Bike section of craigslist) for $950.
