This is a Hercules brand 28"-wheel, rod-brake roadster bike, 1950s era, made in India for the local market by Tube Industries. These bikes were made of a mixture of locally made and British made parts. This bike has a Hercules Type 9 3-speed hub gear, 28" wheels (the rear has been rebuilt with new spokes), an Avon rear tire and a Goodyear front tire, both of which hold air and have minor sidewall cracking but plenty of life left. Has an original drive side pedal and a newer Raleigh non drive side pedal; the grips and possibly the seatpost are also not original, and it's missing the seat, chain, and minor hardware for the shifter cable stops. Included are a full set of brand new Fibrax brake pads specifically for rod brakes and steel wheels. Both fenders are included--the front one is off the bike at the moment, but I can send you more pics of it upon request. The seat tube measures 59cm c-c and 61cm c-t. This is a very cool project in excellent shape for its age.
I am potentially interested in full or partial trades for interesting parts, particularly 80s/90s high end mountain bike parts or professional grade bike shop tools.
