The 2009 Holiday Art Fair at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art--on November 20, 21, and 22--is just around the corner! This is one of the museum's most important fundraisers of the year, providing major support for the museum’s free exhibitions and education programs.
Volunteer to staff the Holiday Art Fair. With the expanded size of this year’s Fair, volunteers are more essential than ever before.
Clinical Research Study for Prostate Cancer (Madison, WI)

Looking for Options for your Prostate Cancer?

If you are one of the 40,000 men treated for prostate cancer with radiation only to have their cancer return, then this clinical trial may be of interest to you.

This study might be appropriate if you:

• Are between the age of 40 and 85
• Have organ confined (biopsy confirmed) recurrent prostate cancer (Clinical Stages T1c and T2a)
• Have been treated with EBRT (conventional, 3D conformal, or IMRT) two or more years prior
• Have not had any prior medical or surgical treatment for prostate cancer, other than EBRT or hormone therapy
• Meet other protocol specific inclusion criteria

The purpose of this clinical research study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a study device, Sonablate® 500, which uses High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, HIFU, for the treatment of subjects who have locally recurrent prostate cancer. The high intensity focused ultrasound (sound wave energy) acts to destroy diseased tissue in the prostate. This treatment is radiation-free and has fewer side effects than other cancer treatments including hormone therapy.

The procedure is minimally invasive and is performed in an outpatient setting. You will be seen in the clinic a total of up to 10 times over 1 year, to ensure the procedure has been successful.

For more information or to determine if you qualify for this research opportunity, please call toll-free 1-866-619-6026 or visit www.theprostatecancerstudy.com/cl.aspx

We have never done anything like this and would really like an opportunity to do so. My parents have been doing it where they live in Atlanta, GA for many years now and they gave me the idea. I love to help others in as selfless of a way as possible. Please send me an email as soon as possible so I can make plans ahead of time. Thank you so much for any help!

Open your Home and Hearts

HOST AN INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE STUDENT!!
Open your heart, your mind, and your home
to an International High School student for one school year. This has proven to be the best tool of diplomacy and bridge building between nations.

We are gearing up for our placement season for the 2007-2008 students who arrive in August and need as much help as we can get to get all these kids into homes.
After celebrating our sixtieth year in international education as a non-profit organization, the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) remains highly committed to our mission: “To help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world.”
Each student in our program is individually interviewed to ensure that they have the appropriate maturity level to be a successful participant in our program. We require a “C+” average to be accepted and we also require our students maintain this minimum grade average throughout their stay (allowing for a short adjustment period). Students have taken an English proficiency test to prove their ability to be academically successful while attending an American high school. Tutoring will be provided for a struggling student.
CIEE strongly believes that by volunteering their time to community service, our students will become more involved in the American way of life. Therefore, we require that they participate in a “Community Service Project” (8 hours per semester) to ensure that they reciprocate the exchange and benefits to their host family, school, and their community.
Students are between 15-18 years old, have their own medical insurance, and spending money. There is no better time than NOW to learn more about our neighbors in the world!!

Why Host?
•	Introduce the heart of America
•	Unite our future leaders
•	Strengthen mutual understanding
•	Gain new insights and appreciation
for different cultures
•	Affect attitudes over lifetimes

Please help us make a difference in the world! If unable to host a student and know someone who can, call to find out about our referral bonus.

For more information and to participate in this rewarding intercultural experience please contact Jan at jellis@ciee.org.

Will work for food or great cause (Madison)

1st of all, to know that Im being contacted by a real person and filter any spam, I will not reply or answer to weird emails like 13321dasd@whatever.com and you must change the subject or title of email to whatever you need help with, like: "I need help with.. bla"

2nd. You must identify yourself, either as the person or company that you represent, that means that If you are a company or business, I will be able to find you online by google, yahoo or the sort, getting some of your info.

3rd. Explain down to detail the problem or issue you need help with and if I need to go there, at least include the whereabouts of the location, this is for me to get an idea of travel distance and times; and photos are a huge plus for troubleshooting questions. All this is to make things quicker for all of us, because if I dont have to email you back with questions about it, I will be responding with my quick answer. And when I say quick answer, I mean it, and will be something like: "ok lets do it" or "sorry Im not able".

Now a little about this ad's poster motive:
This year has been hard for a lot of us, you know the economy, job loss, low or no income, all of that bad stuff. Me being in my late 20's I have never been in such dire situation before. But I resist in falling and being a victim or act like one. Instead, I want to put to use my skills and abilities for the people of my community who might need them. Im healthy and rarely ever get sick, I mean what more can you ask, when you are goin to do something that you know how to do. Im blessed in that sense.
What do I ask in return? For you to show your appreciation, thats all.

Ok with all that in mind..

If you or someone else you know, need help with something but are not able lets say, to pay for it, I might be able to help (not with money, as you might noticed).
Just let me know and I will do whatever I can to help you out.

Some quick and few examples are:
- Pet related problem, like: sitting (any kind of pet) exercising your dog or behavioral issues ( dogs )
- Computer related problem or question PC or Mac
- Spanish Español translation editing proofreading practice improvised teaching
- House work like: yard lawn moving cleaning home improvement
- Companionship for people: no matter the age, if Im able to communicate with them, Im able to companion them.
- Travel insight or advice of Latin America countries: the do's and don'ts of goin south of the border and/or awesome places outside of the usual hotspots of tourism, myths and facts.
- Bicycle related question or issue: want to continue your commute by bike this winter and need some encouragement and know-how?
- Distributing info or flyers of a missing loved one
- Volunteering for a great cause

Note that if the help requires me to go to your location: the closer it is, lets say to the intersection of PD/Mckee Rd and Mapple Grove Dr, the easier for me to help you out.

If you cant understand why Im posting this, and have a hard time believing in it, just forget it and continue your browsing.

Good day.

I have undergone severe hardships the last 2 years and was wondering if anybody out there has any info or if they can help me in anyway for me to get back on my feet again. It all started the end of 2007 when the ressesion started.I'm a business owner of a roofing and disposal company. It was very hard collecting from people money was tight coming out of the winter i started my first roof job up in the madison area.I let my insurance cancell out on my roofing tools and i got robbed $6,000.00 worth of tools. My business went on a downward spin into the ground.I had to sell off alot of my dumpster trailers to keep up with my payments.I had to lay off my workers that i had trained for many years. My X's went after me to get my children taken away from me and told them to lie in court.I haven't seen my children much in the last two years.I started reading the bible for hope.I'm not a person to ask for help in any way.I'm a man of pride.I alway wear a cross around my neck.Stress started to settle in.The summer of 2007 my work truck got hit by a driver who crossed the center line.I lost controll of my vehichle, the back end swung around and the truck went into the ditch and flipped up on its side and got stuck in a telephone pole,my son was in the back seat. The telephone pole was 6" away from his head.We were shook up terrible. My income dropped down terribley after that.I had spray painting graffitti on my trucks trailers, and shed, 16,000 worth of damage that spring.Bill collecters call me every day.I don't want to file bankruptcy because I belive a person should pay there dept.I went into foreclosure on my property, luckily i got it temporaily out on a modification but a lower long term interest rate is not set up yet.My credit score went down, can't take out a loan anymore.I do see my two boys like 1 hr a week in Dane county and my one son in Green county 4 hrs a week.I should of had a attorney in court but had no money.I'm trying to dig myself out but its really hard.If i got a dollar from everybody around i could get back to who i was before--but i'm not big at asking for help.I pray to god take me out of this hole i'm in.Any advice or help?I can show proof of all this.I fell of the hill and am trying to get up again god bless everybody and good luck to all this is real and happened to me.At one point i cried and was thinking about the easy way out but could not do it.Thanks for reading.God bless.Brad N 7976 County Rd CC Belleville WI 53508

Clinical Research Trial for Prostate Cancer (Madison, WI)

VSA arts of Wisconsin incorporated as a nonprofit in 1985. Our mission is as vital and relevant today as it was in 1985. So, too, are the guiding principles that drive our organization. We believe that:

* experiences in the arts enhance personal growth, increase educational achievement and enable career success;
* the arts are a universal and essential language that challenge people to respond to the world, to look beyond themselves, and to celebrate the diversity of human society by building bridges between people, across cultures and through generations; and
* participation in the arts by individuals with disabilities promotes acceptance and inclusion in all aspects of life.
