The Wisconsin Association of Blind Athletes (WABA) is looking for volunteers to assist in it's yearly sports camp for the Visually Impaired. Takes place in Milwaukee at Cardinal Strich College. Camp runs June 19 - June 28, but is split into 3 different sessions:
June 19-22: Junior Camp
June 24-28: Senior Camp
June 27-28: 5-8 Year Old Camp
Help for one or all three sessions. Kids have varying levels of Visual Impairments. Lodging at Cardinal Strich College provided, plus meals. Travel to and from Milwaukee can be arranged. The staff and campers have a LOT of fun, and once you volunteer at this camp, you keep coming back!
Duties include general camp counseling (kids will be kids), assistance with sports such as track and field events, swimming, Goal Ball, Judo, Wrestling... Not a lot of experience neccessary, but must be patient, kind, caring, good with kids, work well with others, and have a good time!
Please provide at least 3 references, and a criminal backround check will be performed.
Thanks to all those interested, and welcome to WABA!
