I'm on the Meadowood Neighborhood Association board. We put out a quarterly newsletter, Meadoword. As a way to reach out to our hispanic and latino neighbors, we have been providing a Spanish translation for the December, January and now April editions.
I had a translator and his girlfriend (UW students) lined up, and they did the December issue, but have not returned emails or phone calls ever since. Ideally, we would be looking for a volunteer translator who could do the whole newsletter and who could have a relatively fast turn-around time because some of the articles are time-sensitive. It would be nice if our volunteer translator also lived in Meadowood neighborhood, but that is not required. I generally will do a translation using freetranslation.com, so all you are doing would be going back and forth between the English and Spanish, and maybe doing a cut and paste with the freetranslation.com version.
Right now, I have been working with about 3 different translators, who are all very busy people and who bits and pieces as they can, and sometimes it gets confusing what's been done and what hasn't.
If you are sincerely interested, please send an email to the address above, and many thanks!
