Why Rep. Baldwin should abandon support of Clinton (53703)

Tammy Baldwin is planning to cast her vote for Clinton at the convention, in spite of her opponent receiving nearly twice as many votes in Dane County.

There has been much debate about the role of super delegates in this election. It is heated, ugly, and getting worse. And while there is back and forth (each candidate making the claim that best suits their candidacy), it seems that non-aligned party officials such as Nancy Pelosi can agree on one thing: Super delegates overturning the will of the people could be catastrophic for the party.

One could surely make the argument that Baldwin was elected to exercise her very good judgment. However, votes have been cast, and they have been cast overwhelmingly for Senator Obama. Going to the polls is the one sacred time that we are actually allowed to voice our opinions. Therefore, in continuing to support Hillary Clinton, there is an inherent disrespect in Rep. Baldwin's choice to ignore the will of those who put her in office.

The length of this primary has already caused great harm to the chances of the democratic party in November, who ever gets the nod. It is time to bring it to a close.

Call Baldwin's office and urge her to support the decision made by her constituency.
