Donation-based Dance Class (Madison)

This is the second announcement of a donation-based dance class that will be offered in the coming month, when there are enough people to fill the class. It's definitely a quandry that dance schools charge a lot for just one dance class. For the practitioners like myself who like to teach just to have fun as a community offering, the benefit goes far and the expense is very little. The goal here is to find enough people to fill the class to cover the expense of renting the space(usually about $15). So if we have that many or more, it just gets cheaper and we can use extra to subsidize future classes. Performance opportunities will be available for those who are interested.

I am new to this and have so far only had one gallery opening, participating in the 14South Artists Fall Art Tour, which was a huge success. We are opening a new gallery shoppe, wine salon and tea house in Whitewater, Wi. (just 45 min. from Madison) on November 12th. We have approx. 3000 sq. ft. of space in an awesome old historic Dairy Supply Building on Whitewater Street. We are looking for artists of all types.....photography, pottery, jewelry, whimsy, handcrafted items, glasswork, weavers, woodwork, paintings, etc.

We will be hosting many events including the University of Wisconsin/Whitewater Pottery Show, Jewelry Soirees, Musical events with local musicians, parties, open houses, artist demonstrations and more. We will have available to purchase Teavana Tea, Wisconsin wines by the glass, Kohler Chocolates, specialty foods and an assortment of high quality gifts and products.

I have included some photos taken last month. The building is close to being finished and will have a huge amount of space for all types of venues! This is not pornography, erotic or anything similar. It is "beauty of the female body" type of stuff. Unfortunately, my pre-arranged shoot and location in Minnesota this week fell apart. Does anyone know how to get a hold of the man that would sit at the festivals and paint crowd scenes of the fest? He painted one 4 or 5 years that had my dog in it and the dog has now passed away. Currently looking for artists to participate in a grant project to benefit a public school in Madison. Artists will be given a metal school desk from the 70s and will be asked to turn the desk into a work of art based on the theme of dreams.

After completion, the desks will be sold at an art auction to benefit Emerson
