Beginner’s Sewing Class
Course will teach basics of hand sewing, machine sewing, pattern comprehension, choosing appropriate fabrics and embellishments, and combine skills with imagination to create.

Adult Beginner’s Sewing Class (Ages 16+)
Have you always wanted to sew, but never taken the time to try it out? Now’s the time to jump in with our thorough sewing course covering all of the basics! Students will learn sewing machine use, hand sewing and mending basics, how to choose, read, and follow a pattern, basic construction technique, how to choose appropriate fabrics and embellishments, and how to use all of this knowledge to create something with style! Students will complete 2 sophisticated projects: an apron and a lined bag with pockets during the duration of the class.

Classes are instructed by Lindsey, owner of Lindsey’s Sewing Studio on the West Side of Madison. She has been sewing since the age of 10 and first learned sewing skills from her mother and grandmother. Lindsey’s sewing repertoire includes, clothing alterations, custom garment design, items for the home such as bedding, upholstery, and drapery, and more. She also designs her own line of handbags, wallets, and accessories that are featured in boutiques in the Madison area.
