Men and Women welcome! Recruits needed to man a Battery of Cannon in The9th Virginia Cavalry CO B, Mcgregors Battery of Horse Artillery! Fun for all ages. Families, singles, old and young, we have a place for you. Honor the history of this great Nation by reliving events from the War that still shapes it today. We are a Cavalry unit, so horses reenact with us. Our most pressing need is for cannoneers, but there will be oppourtunity to go as a dismounted trooper, cavalry mounted trooper, or for Civilian Impressions. Events usually run from Friday night through Sunday afternoons. Battles on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. Fair like atmosphere with Sutlers selling goods and food. Often times there are demonstrations of period craftsman. There is always a period ball on saturday nights[ very romantic ]. Usually a complimentary community meal, and period church services offered. We have period clothing men and women to get you started, for you to borrow from our Quartermaster. Moderen camping available if needed. Reenactors don't pay to camp. This is a Confederate Unit, History not hate, People of color welcome too!
